Dino Discover
AR immersive learning experience
Dino Discover is an AR immersive learning experience that allows users to learn about dinosaurs but also be able to experience their size and more!

The Vision
Bring an experience that allows people to understand some of the size, sounds, and facts about dinosaurs.
I used Polycam explore scanning objects using either Lidar or Geometric Photography, I next adjusted the objects in Blender to smooth out any edges and make it look more realistic.
Reality Composer (an Apple system) allowed me to make scenes and adjust where items were anchored into the scene. I got all of my animal artifacts and 3D assets on Sketchfab and converted the necessary files into the correct format using Reality Converter.
Scene 1
Scene 2
Idea 1
In this area I was exploring Reality Composer more, seeing what it is capible of, what behaviors.
Idea 2
I thought adding something to not make you able to see the dinosaurs would be a good sense of surprise. When clicked on, the silver balls next to each dino would tell information on the card.
Idea 3
Eliminated the wall idea and instead brought in more color and animals, explored with the layout.
Idea 4
Found that the next scene box in the background is hard for users to find so decided to try make it bigger.
Idea 5
Got rid of all cards, and went for an audio system. When the ball, now red, is touched it will give an audio of facts on that dino and some audio of what they sounded like. Having all four balls lined up allows the user to understand easier what to do.
The Behaviors
After figuring out a little bit about the visuals, I needed to figure out how do I incorporate behaviors into the system that make sense for both users and keep them entertained.
Biggest challenges
Some of the largest issues I am facing as I have worked on this is how do I indicate to a user to click on something? Exploring a square didn’t have many indications to the users, so I switched to a sphere and that brought more indication, but still is difficult.
How do I direct them toward where they need to go? Since AR is so open and they can see all of the surroundings without a clear sense of where to go they can leave the space easily.
